Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. One of her first Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that produced Hamilton. Ashford's last part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Other Broadway roles includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
